This is the third release from Alpha Waves. One-Eighty is dedicated to all the speed freaks out there and those who ever wanted to know how psychedelic trance will sound at 180bpm. Although this project is a demonstration of how music can restructure itself at such immense speed (145bpm -> 180bpm), it should also be a request to all Psytrance DJs and Artists not to exceed this speed limit as it will make your music just sound awful and way too fast.

This is the debut release of my new mix series Alpha Waves mainly focusing on Darkpsy and Pure Power Psychedelic (some people call it Psycore). It starts at aroung 150bpm slowly gaining more and more speed until it reaches its peak at about 163bpm when Kashyyyk will give it a massive blast.

It is time. At first I thought I can avoid this step but it got clear that it’s not sufficient to provide a german-only version of my website. The mere fact that my site is soon going to be listed on Ektoplazm finally made me think of creating an english version of the website.
But I must say that the translation still has some flaws I have to fix as soon as possible. Some parts and articles still need to be translated. The sidebar for instance is still available only in german. Problems also exists with tags in the english version so I can’t use tags in english articles at the moment. This will be fixed, soon.

In besagter Datensicherung befanden sich eine ganze Menge DJ Sets von mir aus der Zeit, als ich noch Drum&Bass aufgelegt habe. Doch damit nicht genug, meine ersten Gehversuche in Sachen Psytrance sind in dieser Sicherung ebenfalls vorhanden.

Ich benutze Twitter in der Regel um Euch über mich selbst oder über Dinge, die mich interessieren, auf dem Laufenden zu halten. Und damit Ihr beim Betrachten meiner Website wisst, was Sache ist, seht Ihr immer die fünf neuesten Meldungen rechts unten in der Seitenleiste direkt unterhalb der aktuellen Partydates.

Ein kurzes und schnelles Update: Die Party “The Call of the Dervish” wurde um eine Woche, auf den 27. Februar 2009 verlegt. Sie heißt nun “The Recall of the Dervish” und ich bin jetzt doch mit von der Partie. Es ist noch nicht 100%ig sicher, dass ich auch wirklich spielen werde, da ich erst am Samstag kommen kann. Das klären wir dann aber vor Ort.

Leider kann ich aus persönlichen Gründen das kommende Wochenende nicht auf der The Call of the Dervish Party auflegen. Es tut mir echt Leid, aber es lässt sich nicht ändern. Nichts desto trotz werde ich mit ziemlicher Wahrscheinlichkeit auf der Maiglöckchenklang 2 wieder dabei sein.

Und nun die gute Nachricht. Ich habe eben auf der Website einen RSS Feed eingerichtet. Dadurch verpasst Ihr nun nie mehr, wenn es hier etwas neues gibt. Einfach in der Navigation oben mal auf RSS Feed klicken und Ihr bekommt (zumindest im Firefox, Safari und Internet Explorer 7) neben dem RSS Feed auch Möglichkeiten aufgezeigt, wie der Feed in Zukunft angeschaut werden kann.

Wieso hier niemand etwas schreibt kann ich schnell beantworten. Ich stehe zur Zeit in der Endphase meiner Diplomarbeit. Das kostet viel Zeit und Nerven und lässt wenig Raum für andere Projekte, wie diese Website. Programmieren schön und gut, aber die schriftliche Ausarbeitung im Anschluss ist wirklich kein Zuckerschlecken. Das ist wahrscheinlich der Grund, warum man im Leben nur einmal das Leid einer Diplomarbeit über sich ergehen lässt. Hätte ich das bloß vorher gewusst…

Andererseits versuche ich natürlich trotz der aktuellen Situation, meine Termine zu halten. So spielte ich an Silvester auf der Goananda Psyvester Party zum Opening ein schön dunkles Proggi Set (man glaubt es kaum). Ende Januar 2009 folgte dann die Nightvision bei der es auf einer richtig fetten Anlage der Jungs von Wuzup Event aus dem Sauerland psychedelisch stark vorwärts ging. Beide Parties fanden im Kloster Gronau statt. Es war schon interessant zu sehen, wie sich die Location über zwei Parties hinweg von der Deko so massiv ändern kann. Ganz in ihrerer eigenen Art waren beide Parties dekorativ eine echte Meisterleistung. Fotos hab ich leider keine, aber auf der Goabase gibt es bereits welche zu bewundern.

Zu guter Letzt möchte ich noch kurz erwähnen, dass ich zwischenzeitlich mit einer Freundin zusammen auch an einem eigenen kleinen Deko Objekt gearbeitet habe. Demnächst werden auch noch weitere Objekte mit ähnlichen Mustern folgen.

Wer sich erinnern kann … pünktlich zum Nikolaus vor einigen Wochen hatte ich meinen Mix “Madness, arise!” fertiggestellt, der nur aus Stücken des Albums “Aries Madness” von Psyfactor aka. Dmitry Korablin besteht. Ursprünglich kam mir die Idee mit diesem Mix, nachdem ich beim genaueren Hinhören bemerkt habe, wie ähnlich sich die Stücke doch anhören und wie es wäre, aus der ganzen CD ein einziges Stück zu produzieren.

Nachdem ich mir dann das Ergebnis angehört habe überlegte ich, was Psyfactor selbst zu diesem Mix sagen würde. Und da es sich ausschließlich um eine Zusammenstellung seiner Tracks handelt, fühlte ich mich dazu verpflichtet, ihm den Mix zu zeigen und ihn nach seiner Meinung zu fragen.

Also schrieb ich ihm kurzerhand eine Mail:

Hi Dmitri,

first of all I have to thank you for your latest album “Aries Madness”. It’s one of my favorites in my collection. Keep up the good work.

After listening to it a couple of times I have thought of making a dj mix with all tracks from this album. And I finally did it today. After I finished recording the mix I just thought “wow, this is so awesome”. So I’d like to share it with you for an opinion.

WOW! Ich hatte mit vielem gerechnet, aber ganz sicher nicht mit einer solchen Antwort. Ich war echt überrascht. Das ganze hat mich dazu inspiriert, dieses Vorhaben, nämlich komplette Alben neu zu mixen, weiter zu verfolgen. Ich habe schon eine Idee, welches Album als nächstes dran ist. Aber verraten wird noch nix

Wer den Mix noch nicht kennt, der sollte einmal im entsprechenden Beitrag vorbeischauen. Dort kann der Mix runtergeladen werden.

ich kann es selbst noch kaum glauben, aber ich darf mit Freude ankündigen, dass meine Website nun endlich nach einer halben Ewigkeit in einem völlig neuen Gewand wieder online ist. Ich weiss, ich habe Euch ziemlich lange, wenn nicht zu sagen sogar zu lange warten lassen. Aber dieses Warten hat nun ein Ende gefunden.

Neuerungen

Es gibt ein paar Änderungen und neue Features die ich hier kurz ansprechen möchte:

• Die ganze Website wird nun in der Form eines Blogs angeboten. Beiträge werden also nun sauber archiviert und mit Tags versehen um sie einfacher zu Kategorisieren und später besser wiederfinden zu können. Ausserdem lassen sich Beiträge nun auch kommentieren.
• Ich habe einen Party Kalender eingerichtet in dem alle Parties aufgelistet werden auf denen ich spiele. Ich versuche diese Liste immer möglichst aktuell zu halten. Vergangene Parties werden, je nach Möglichkeit, auch noch zusätzlich mit Fotos oder Rückblicken von mir ergänzt.
• Es gibt endlich ein Booking Formular über das man schnell und einfach Kontakt mit mir aufnehmen kann.

Ich werde versuchen im Laufe der Zeit noch weitere Features einzubauen. Aber bis dahin soll das erstmal genügen.

…so ungefähr könnte ich meinen ersten Artikel beginnen. Halt moment mal, anscheinend tue ich das ja gerade. Und ich habe Recht, denn das Release dieses Albums liegt schon etwas über zwei Jahre zurück. Vielleicht sogar noch länger. Aus diesem Grund stimmt die Headline auch nicht wirklich. Aber das macht nichts. Zu dieser Zeit war das Album neu.

Mit Erruption! begann ich meine ersten Versuche, Chillout zu produzieren. Ob es geklappt hat? Ich weiss es nicht genau. Mittlerweile hätte ich bestimmt einiges anderes gemacht als früher, allerdings kann ich dennoch stolz darauf sein, dass gleich ein ganzes Album daraus entstanden ist. Ursprünglich waren die Stücke eher als kleine Experimente anzusehen die ich nie veröffentllichen wollte. Doch man kennt es ja: “Erstens kommt es anders und zweitens als man denkt”. Bloß mit dem Begriff “mastering” sollte ich vielleicht in Zukunft etwas aufpassen.

Bevor ich Dich nun dem Hörgenuss überlasse sei gesagt, mein persönlicher Favorit ist “Just Before Dawn”.
